Please allow me to share my opinion as to where Factomize is at with our original campaign pledges.

--Develop tools that allow content submitted to blogs and forums to be easily Factomized
With the development and open source of the code for the Factomize Forum Addon, this was technically done. Without digital identities as part of the protocol, the system isn't worth pushing in a meaningful way. When digital identities are integrated, it will become a much more worthwhile offering.

--Create a community portal to improve communication and information dissemination
We have delivered this with the creation and operation of this community and our blog.

--Contribute available resources to the Testnet as needed
We have one testnet server. If additional resources are needed we're happy to contribute.

--Provide a highly stable, scalable Authority Node or Nodes for the Network with 24/7 monitoring and response.
--Manage capital and expenses in a manner where the financial stability and ability to scale the Authority Node(s) is ensured no matter the price of the Factoid and Bitcoin."
This has been done.

--Maximize deferment to the Grant Pool

Our original intention was to be an infrastructure ANO, admin this community, contribute some articles here and there, take part in governance in a substantial way, and provide a software modification on occasion. It quickly became apparent that efficient, transparent communication and governance will be critical to the success of this protocol and there are areas that are ripe for improvement. I was growing very frustrated standing by when I knew that my team could solve many of these problems. My team used to own and operate some of the largest forums in the world and the modifications we created made it a highly efficient operation. As such, on September 2nd I posted this thread communicating that we were thinking of becoming a development ANO. Overall, the reception was warm enough where we decided to proceed.

Since becoming an ANO I personally have not kept a single FCT or penny for myself. In fact, for most of the time, Factomize has been operating in the red as we contracted out the Factomize Forum addon to Canonical Ledgers. My old star developer does not come cheap and as a result, I made the decision to run at a substantially lower efficiency (currently 0) that will be variable based upon the FCT price. I will say that we are currently operating deeper in the red than ever before despite that lowered efficiency. Please note that everything we're producing in the foreseeable future is intended to one day end up on the Neutral Information Website and eventually be owned by the non profit.

I am sure that our lowered efficiency doesn't sit well with some. But we are very good at what we do with forums and you're going to see great things come from us. We feel our work is a worthy investment for the protocol and hope the Standing Parties will continue to support our being a development ANO.
Factomize designed, developed, and has now deployed an additional feature to the poll system. There is now an option to hide votes until the poll closes. This will be a very important feature for some votes, especially this round of grants.

Factomize designed, developed, and deployed the ANO Contributions modification that is powering this subforum. We are committed to improving it going forward to help bring greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability to Factom governance.
Factomize designed, developed, and deployed the Major Contributor System for the Factom Protocol. This system currently lists all ANOs, their team members, and whatever information they choose to input for their ANO. It will soon be expanded to do the same for Committees, Guides, and Core Developers. Along with this forum, it will eventually be fully integrated into factomprotocol.org.

Factomize had a busy November and has enjoyed the FCT price rise as we're no longer operating in the red.

- We designed, developed, and deployed the ANO Contributions System that is powering this update.

- We designed, developed, and deployed the Major Contributors System seen here. It's starting to shape up nicely, a big thank you to those who have updated their team and personal profiles. We still need to develop the Guides and Core Developers aspect of that software.

- We created a new theme for the forum so that navigation between factomprotocol.org and this site is seamless.

- We created a modification to our existing poll system that enabled votes to only be shown after the poll closed. This was critical for the last grant round.

- The normal ongoing maintenance and bug fixes.

Governance, Community, and Marketing

It can be hard to keep track of the various work we do on the governance, community, and marketing front. Some contributions that come to mind are:

- We designed a Discord refactor proposal and worked with the community to refine it.

- We continue to moderate the Factom Protocol Reddit while updating and improving the stickied information post.

- We organized the Authority Node Operator AMA.

- We continue to moderate the Factom Protocol Discord.

- We organized and created a new Bitcointalk.org thread for Factom and worked with coinmarketcap.com to update their listing.

- We remain active within committees, especially the Factom Protocol Exchange Committee which @Samuel Vanderwaal is leading very well.

- We continue to admin this community

- We held an AMA on /r/entrepreneur though there wasn't much interest from the community. But all it takes is one!

- We remain active throughout reddit and social media educating people about the Factom protocol.

- We took part in almost all governance discussions and votes and contributed meaningfully to process creation.

Here's to a great December!
As a development ANO creating governance and marketing solutions for the protocol that are not profit-motivated while needing to be extremely agile, Factomize is on a variable efficiency. With the recent price rise of FCT, we created this thread where we asked about increasing development or raising efficiency and ANOs overwhelmingly voted for more development.

We've decided to increase efficiency 5% AND increase development, slowly at first, then continue to ramp up as the price of FCT further allows. Additionally, we had to spend the last four days tracking down a very difficult bug and are worried about the community perspective of not delivering regularly when similar situations arise. And finally, it's very difficult to properly budget for development with such volatile price swings so we'll be taking the conservative approach while trying our best to put FCT into the grant pool.

If we adjust our efficiency again in December, we will use this update thread rather than create a new update. If we adjust in January or future months, we'll create a new update.
Factomize has added Core Developers and Guides to the Major Contributor System. If we missed any Core Developers, please let us know. Those of you in these two areas without a personal picture, if you could add one, it would benefit the protocol as these are important roles. Adding your LinkedIn and bio can also go a long way.
The following are code dumps for the stickied Reddit info thread and the bitcointalk.org thread in case they need restored at some point. I will edit them in here over time and the version history can be used if ever needed.

Reddit thread:

The Factom protocol is an open source data integrity protocol built by [a coalition of technology companies](https://factomize.com/forums/major-contributors/anos) that extends the security of blockchain to any type of data.

Factom is built from scratch and has novel design implementations that set it apart from all other blockchain protocols. We are confident these features will help propel Factom to become the internet's data integrity layer. You are invited to delve into our ecosystem and we look forward to answering any questions you have.

**Token and Tokenomics**

While the Factom Protocol is a two token system, only the Factoid (FCT) is transferable and able to be traded on exchanges. Entry Credits (EC) are obtained by burning FCT and are used to enter data into the Factom Protocol. Entry Credits are $.001 each and that price is fixed. Therefore, if FCT is worth $1.00 and you burn it, you receive 1,000 EC. If FCT is worth $10.00 each and you burn one, you receive 10,000 EC. This brilliant two token system allows for:

1. The value of FCT to increase the more the Factom Protocol is utilized.
2. Companies and governments can effectively budget for entering data onto the Protocol based upon their estimated usage.
3. Subscription systems can be setup with 3rd parties where companies and governments don't have to hold cryptocurrency if they don't want to or can't for compliance reasons. FCT are still burned for EC by the 3rd party company but the subscriber is charged a small markup for the service.

The Factom protocol is an open source data integrity protocol built by a coalition of technology companies that extends the security of blockchain to any type of data. Development began in 2014 and the previous Bitcointalk thread can be found here. With the release of Milestone 3, the Factom Protocol became one of the most decentralized blockchain projects in existence. As there was no longer any central authority to update the previous Bitcointalk thread, it became outdated. Therefore, the Factom Protocol Marketing Committee will be regularly updating this thread and shares this login.

As a pure data blockchain protocol, the use cases are limitless. For example, Equator, a leading provider of residential loan default software and marketing solutions for many of the country's top mortgage servicers, real estate agents and vendors recently signed with Factom Inc. This video below showcases how the Factom Protocol can be utilized to revolutionize the mortgage industry. But this is the tip of the iceberg.

Token and Tokenomics

While the Factom Protocol is a two token system, only the Factoid (FCT) is transferable and able to be traded on exchanges. Empowering Business and Government

By providing high throughput, low fixed cost, and secure data entry that easily integrates with your existing systems, the Factom protocol solves the data integrity needs of today. Using Blockchain technology, the Factom protocol enables efficient, immutable publication of data, benefiting people and companies by providing a source of indisputable truth and verification to all parties. Learn more.

The Factom protocol enables developers to build powerful open source technologies and infrastructures using its efficient pure data structures. The Factom protocol’s unique two-token system lowers the barrier for enterprise companies to build applications that require cost stability and ease of integration with existing system

The Factom Asset Token protocol (FAT protocol) is an open source tokenization protocol built on the Factom blockchain that is efficient, modular, composable, and extensible allowing developers to layer token functionality to meet their specific use case. The FAT protocol is built around a set of open source standards that establish a pure-data tokenization implementation directly within the efficient data structure of the Factom blockchain. Learn more.

Voting Protocols
Flexible on-chain voting protocols integrate seamlessly into your applications with a variety of voting systems. Quickly and easily enable your applications with with the most cost effective fully audit-able, immutable, and censorship resistant blockchain voting protocol. Learn more.

Smart Contracts
The Factom protocol enables a myriad of smart contract technologies. Build cheap and fully auditable stand alone smart contracts that keep all of your data private, or integrate into the FAT protocol to create self executing smart contracts.

Identity Solutions
The factom protocol is the optimal platform to build identity solutions, and provides a robust set of infrastructure for digital identities. With the factom protocol’s pure data implementation it’s easy to build decentralized identifiers, auditable attestations, and self sovereign identities.

Many more to come!
Authority Node Operators

A coalition of 26 (eventually 65+) companies called Authority Node Operators (ANOs) provide the infrastructure to decentralize the Factom Protocol. These companies also "further the protocol" in whatever way they pledged. If they do not provide stable infrastructure or do not further the Protocol, they can be removed. In return for their services, these companies split 73,000 FCT per month which provides a minor inflation for the protocol. This inflation is reduced by usage of the Protocol as, in order to enter data into Protocol, you have to burn FCT for Entry Credits. Committees and Working Groups

Due to the Factom Protocol being one of the most decentralized blockchain projects in existence with no central authority to make decisions, a series of committees and working groups were established to handle various tasks. These committees are made up of people from Authority Node Operators and members of the community. The current committees are:

- Core and Technical Committee
- Documentation Committee
- Exchange Committee
- Legal Committee
- Marketing Committee

Authority Node Operators select an "efficiency" by which they operate at. Whatever efficiency they choose, of the 1,123 FCT they are to receive per server per month, that percentage of FCT is instead placed in the Factom Protocol Grant Pool. Every few months a new grant round starts where people and companies can submit their grant proposals for ways to further the Factom Protocol. The last grant saw more than 140,000 FCT awarded worth well over 1 million dollars. The recently awarded grants were:

If you have an idea as to how you can further the Factom Protocol, be sure to keep an eye out for the next grant round.

These are exciting times for the Factom Protocol. We hope you'll take a deep dive and learn more about what we have to offer.
The Factom Protocol Daily Update, an internal facing communication tool that aggregates important information from around the Factom ecosystem goes live later today. It will be our last major governance / marketing / communication solution as we are now changing focus. Who (our lead developer) will begin to work on adding https support to the Enterprise Wallet as well as a few usability improvements. From there, he will likely be delving deeper into Core development prior to working on a revenue generating project for Factomize.

David has ceased most marketing, outreach, moderation, and governance work and will focus on Factomize's business related endeavors from here. As a result, he is no longer a Discord or Reddit moderator and resigned from the Documentation Committee.
Factomize has submitted pull requests for what we're deeming version 0.3.1 of the Factom Protocol Enterprise Wallet. The PRs can be found here:

0.3.1 Changes
* Address Book and other popups open faster
* "Custom" API Endpoint now sanitizes input into accepted format (Prepends http:// if no scheme specified, removes trailing slashes)
* API Endpoint and Address Book radio buttons now look like radio buttons
* Wording changes```

0.3.0 Changes
Backend Changes:

* https support with default sync for fresh installs to factomd.net Open Node.
* Loads correct factomd.conf file on windows. For more details see: https://github.com/FactomProject/factomd/issues/636
* Speed improvements to the "Transaction" tab after the first initial loading after wallet startup. For more details see: https://github.com/FactomProject/factom/issues/85
* Temporary (60 seconds) caching of balance requests to reduce factomd requests

Frontend Changes:

* Logos updated to Factom protocol logo

* Some wording changed (transferring factoids and footer)

* FCT/EC logos replaced with text
* Yellow (+) button on Transactions/Address Book now always popped out for visibility

* Sync Method revamped to include Factomd Open Node and https support for the courtesy node
* Custom input allows entry of the scheme, just prefix the address with "http://" or "https://" (For localhost https support, please refer to the factomd.conf settings)
* Send Factoids / Buy EC
* No longer requires you to click a button to preview the transaction, updates as you type
* Clicking send now takes you to a confirmation prompt
* Wording changes of error messages and some of the UI elements
* Address Book popout now allows you to click on an address to select it

Quarter 1, 2019 Authority Node Update
It has been a busy quarter for Factomize and we're proud of the work we've done. We're optimistic about the Protocol in the short, medium, and long term.

Marketing and Outreach
 • Continued to edit the Factom Protocol Daily Update
 • Responsible for the majority of the content of the twice-monthly protocol newsletter and the mailgun subscription.
 • Networked with members of government and their staff.
 • Helped Alex from Factoshi draft a response to very difficult questions from Coinmarketcap.com that resulted in an update of the circulating supply.
 • Purchased copper membership for the Bitcointalk Factom Protocol account so we had access to needed functionality.
 • Continued to update the stuck info thread on Reddit.
 • Continued to be a prolific poster across social media on behalf of the protocol.
 • Worked with LiveCoinWatch to have their protocol links and information updated.
 • Continued to update the first post of the Bitcointalk.org thread and post within the thread.
 • Wrote the information page for prospective ANOs.
 • Wrote an article detailing the awarded grants from last round.
 • Continued to operate the community forum
Governance and Committee
Efficiency and Grants
 • Factomize applied for and received two grants and as a result we raised our efficiency to 35%. The grants are for core development and marketing videos. We contributed our own funds for the marketing videos to hire a professional voice actor.
 • Factomize Authority Nodes were stable through the quarter and updated within all windows.
 • Continued to run a testnet node.
Other Work
Factomize had a busy Q2.

Usage and Development

- In Q2, Factomize successfully acquired an asset after prolonged negotiations with an Israeli company which is part of a longer term strategy. We are now Factomizing data as a result and have around a million entry backlog. Part of that backlog will result in more than 70,000 chains on the protocol. You can see when we began creating those chains in June:

- Created a voting tool where you can see all votes that have ever transpired on the forum. It can be accessed by going to the "Governance" dropdown menu and then to "Voting" or simply clicking here.

- Who continues to answer and help others with code related questions.

Marketing and Outreach

We've continued to pare down our marketing and outreach.

- We connected with a few government officials and staff but that is down from last quarter significantly.

- We took part in the recent AMA.

- Continue to post to the Bitcointalk thread and maintain the stickied post on Reddit.

- We write the twice-monthly newsletter and contribute to the Daily Digest.

- Worked with @Keith Pincombe to setup a detailed welcome message for all new registrations on the Factomize forum.

- Continue to operate this forum.

- Wrote a grant to further fund the Bug Bounty Program.

- Led the creation of the Website Committee.

- Factomize took part in all votes.

- Who is part of the Core Committee.

- David is part of the Exchange Committee.

Grant Work

- Our initial Core Dev grant was determined to be successful and we were awarded another one.

- We were awarded a grant to automate the grant system and that work is progressing.
Q3 was full of frustration and accomplishment and I'm going to keep this very short and just share the major points.

- Much of our work revolved around PegNet and we feel we played a critical role in its successful launch. From conference calls with API providers, to marketing, to core development, to code reviews; we played a major role.

- All our grants have been successful thus far and in Q3 we rolled out the Automated Grant System.

- We continue to write the twice-monthly Factom Protocol Newsletter.

Our efficiency is currently at 40%.
During most of Q4, we operated at 40% efficiency.

Primary Non-grant related work
- Developed PegNetMarketCap.com which became a critical website for PegNet. PNMC costs have gone into the 5 figures.
- Write the monthly newsletter.
- Contribute to the Daily Update.
- Operate the Factomize forum.
- Maintain (and recently rewrote) the stickied Reddit info post.
- Active contributor to governance.

Forum and PegNetMarketCap.com functionality uses approximately 1500 entry credits per day.

Additional Monthly Expenses
Factomize has the normal expenses other ANOs do, but has also been paying the following on a monthly basis:

$21.72 for Cloudflare for PegNetMarketCap.com
$80.00 for PegNetMarketCap.com servers
$40.00 for Factomize forum server
$10.00 for Factomize forum test server
$25.00 for private Github
$315.00 for Meetup.com Pro for PegNet
$95.00 for CoinMarketCap.com API for PegNetMarketCap.com
$79.00 for Mailgun subscription for newsletter and daily update email handling
$40.00 for extra testnet server for Who to utilize for p2p2
$705.72 total

Grant Related Work

Under the Core and General Dev grants, we have provided substantial technical assistance to the Factom and PegNet ecosystems.

- Core and General Development - Successful
- Core and General Development - Under Development
- ANO Promotion and Demotion System - Under Development
We're going to be working on some additional dev projects.

Edit 02/21

Factomize will be working on a variety of governance related projects. For a long time, we've wanted to improve governance efficiency and transparency but other priorities were coming first. We're at a point now where Belazor and I can work on these projects. We will provide regular updates.
Current Update: Furlough
Due to the pandemic and outlook, Factomize is doing the following for the foreseeable future:

1. We are going down to one server at 100% efficiency meaning we will accept no FCT. We have reached out to @Brian Deery to decommission that server properly.

2. We will be offering the forum up for sale to the community this coming grant round at a fair price. If the forum is not purchased this grant round we'll be closing it down after two weeks so please make plans for that just in case.

3. Once that grant thread is submitted, David Chapman will be furloughed and will not engage in Factom related work.

4. Mike Miller (DaiTengu) will continue to admin the remaining server.

5. Belazor (our dev who did the Automated Grant System and ANO Standing System) will no longer work for Factomize. If the forum is purchased by the community, he will operate it independently while the details of its transition to the community are worked out.

6. Who is still evaluating how he wants to handle Core dev grants going forward and once he has made a decision, we will let you know.

7. After the grant round, Factomize will not take part in governance while it is furloughed.

While there is precedent for going down to one server, we realize there is not for our "furlough" plan. We don't want to give up on the protocol but the pandemic has been the straw that broke the camel's back for us. If the Standing Parties choose to remove us via the ANO Standing System we understand.

I wish you the best of luck David, and I hope to see you back with Factomize in full force in the future. I truly hope you will be back.

I also hope that the community approves the purchase of the forum. You have contributed far more to it than the price you have asked previously reflects, and it is clearly an extremely important asset for the protocol.
