Below is the update we provided before in the ANO-pledges thread (2 October) verbatim:

We would like to mention that we are currently hosting 3 nodes on the testnet and not 4 as initially pledged.

This is because there does not seem to be a need for the extra node at this time, and also because we want to run an identical setup on the testnet as on the mainnet to ensure we can mimic the upgrade/brain-transfer/swap procedures as close to 1:1.

We have followed the discussion yesterday regarding hosting an additional testnet for stability- and consensus testing, and would be more than happy to provide another node or two for this purpose.

Regarding outlining our progress in regards to each pledge; we have tried to make ourselves as available as possible to the core-committee and Factom inc. for testing and deploying new releases, and are still running at 70% efficiency as pledged. This hurts quite a lot (to be frank) due to the declining price, but we believe it is of high importance to keep funding the grant pool in these hard times, and will continue to run at 70% also for the foreseeable future.

Hello.

There was an request for us to give an update on our conribution/pledges. This is something we have been thinking about lately, but we was unsure what cadence to provide updates on as we are mainly an infrastructure ANO at 70% efficiency.

Quarterly updates does seem natural, so we will do that.

We are still operating at 70% efficiency, and has been since we entered the Authority set in june last year. Most of the time we have been operating very close to a loss, and have only been able to fulfill our pledge of not lowering our efficiency by re-purposing hardware and equipment from other projects (not for Main-net Authorities)

We do believe it is very important for the Factom community to have a stable grant pool to fund important efforts like core development and the like, and will continue to do what we can to keep the efficiency at least 70% also in the future.

Our Main-net servers remains unchanged; still operating in T3/T4 centers in Estonia/USA. We are pleased to report no issues with hosting lately, and the servers and identities remain in good health.
We did however experience some issues with the US host (T4) last year but these seems to be resolved now. If problem occurs again we have arranged with Estonia hosting provider to move the node to a dedicated server in another data-center/city in Estonia operated by them (they are very good, but more expensive than US host).

Currently we are operating:
2 Main-net servers for Authority set.
2 Main-net backup servers for Authority set.
3 Test-net nodes (2 authority set, 1 backup)
1 Open Node server as part of grant
1 Open Node server provided for free as a pledge
1 Open Node tes-tnet server to support Open Node Enhancement development
2 servers to provide hosting for monitoring equipment and support company operations
(12 servers total)

We added the extra Open Node server as a new pledge (hosting for free), as there was only 2 servers in the pool and in our eyes that is to few for something as important as the Open Node. It is now being used by both Myfactomwallet and Enterprise Wallet and any downtime would be quite bad.

For the 2018-tax year we did a voluntary tax audit by international auditing company BDO. This was done to ensure we are operating within the law and have good accounting practices as not to put our company or the Factom blockhain in legal jeopardy. It was quite expensive, but they did a thorough job and was impressed with how transparent Factom and blockchain in general are.

Last year we wrote an comprehensive document detailing how we would handle taxes and provided to the other ANOs as a template/inspiration. Earlier this year we provided an update to this here, describing in detail how to use Alex' script (thank you again), bitcoin.tax, Blockrock mining script (thank you) and accounting software to prepare accounting/taxes in an easy way for both auditing and filing.

When it comes to governance we have tried to stay onn top of discussion and vote in every governance vote. We might have missed one or two, but that was not intentional and we try our best to properly evaluate proposals and give fedback before voting starts.

When it comes to operational matters we have responded very quickly (within minutes) when required, and monitoring have been working as intended.

We have also been testing new releases of software on test-net and main-net before wider releases and providing feedback to members of core committee.

Since our last update we have been participating in three grants:
- Open Node Initial Grant
- Open Node Continuation
- Open Node Enhancement (partially funded cutoff-grant)

We will continue to operate like the above in the near future if fundamentals does not change significantly. We still pledge to keep 70% efficincy even if price retraces significantly.

Sincerely
Roar&Lars

Hi everyone.

As stated last update we will provide quarterly updates from now on.

We are a infrastructure ANO at 70% efficiency, and have not lowered effeciency since being promoted to ANO one year ago and have provided highest amount of FCT to grant pool of ANOs so far.

We believe it is very important for the Factom community to have a stable grant pool to fund important efforts like core development etc, and will continue to do what we can to keep the efficiency at least 70% also in the future.

We are in process of moving one of our authority nodes from center in the USA to Estonia as the USA host has had some issues last month. We move it to same company that host our other server, but in different city/datacenter. The Estonia node have had 100% uptime with no infrastructure related demotions or downtime for the entire year, so we confident in moving second node to same company.

Currently we are operating:

2 Main-net servers for Authority set.

2 Main-net backup servers for Authority set.

3 Test-net nodes (2 authority set, 1 backup)

1 Open Node server as part of grant

1 Open Node server provided for free as a pledge

1 Open Node test-net server to support Open Node Enhancement development

2 servers to provide hosting for monitoring equipment and support company operations

(12 servers total)

In reference to governance we have tried to stay on top of discussion and vote in every governance vote. We might have missed one or two, but that was not intentional and we try our best to properly evaluate proposals and give fedback before voting starts. We are also currently helping with testing new grant system on facctomize.

When it comes to operational matters we have responded very quickly (within minutes) when required, and monitoring have been working as intended.

We have also been testing new releases of software on test-net and main-net before wider releases and providing feedback to members of core committee.

Since our last update we have been participating in three grants:

* Open Node Continuation

* Open Node Enhancement (testing).

We also supported MaxCollab with 50 FCT in crowd support effort for them to continnue efforts of engaging in community.

We will continue to operate like the above in the near future if fundamentals does not change significantly. We still pledge to keep 70% efficiency even if price retraces significantly.

Best regards

Hi,

We are a infrastructure ANO at 70% efficiency, and have not lowered effeciency since being promoted to ANO 1.5 years ago and have provided highest amount of FCT to grant pool of ANOs so far.

We believe it is very important for the Factom community to have a stable grant pool to fund important efforts like core development etc, and will continue to do what we can to keep the efficiency at least 70% also in the future.

Since last update we moved one authority server from US to Estonia (where other server is, but to another data-center), which almost tripled price of hosting this dedicated server. Very bad timing consider FCT price, and to be honest operating at this cost level at this efficiency at this FCT price is not long term sustainable even as infra structure ANO. For now we will keep 70% efficiency and hope price increase.

Currently we are operating:

2 Main-net servers for Authority set.

2 Main-net backup servers for Authority set.

3 Test-net nodes (2 authority set, 1 backup)

1 Open Node server as part of grant

1 Open Node server provided for free as a pledge

2 servers to provide hosting for monitoring equipment and support company operations

(11 servers total)

In reference to governance we have tried to stay on top of discussion and vote in every governance vote. We might have missed one or two, but that was not intentional and we try our best to properly evaluate proposals and give fedback before voting starts. We are also currently helping with testing new grant system on facctomize.

When it comes to operational matters we have responded very quickly (within minutes) when required, and monitoring have been working as intended. We believe servers have had 100% uptime this quarter.

We have also been testing new releases of software on test-net and main-net before wider releases and providing feedback to members of core committee.

Since our last update we have been participating in this grant:

* Open Node Continuation

We will continue to operate like the above in the near future. We still pledge to keep 70% efficiency for now, but at this price point it is not sustainable long term and we may have to take some action to rectify issue.

Best regards

Hi,

We are a infrastructure ANO at 70% efficiency, and have not lowered effeciency since being promoted to ANO.

In last update we described moving second server to Estonia too. Both servers are located there now with perfect uptime. Servers are dedicated with no shared hosting.

Currently we are operating:

2 Main-net servers for Authority set.

2 Main-net backup servers for Authority set (cloud hosting)

2 Test-net nodes (2 authority set)

1 Open Node server as part of grant

2 servers to provide hosting for monitoring equipment and support company operations

(7 servers total + cloud backups)

Governance wise we have tried to pay good attention participating in discussion and votes (almost all) and also participate in grant rounds.

When it comes to operational matters we have responded very quickly (within minutes) when required, and monitoring have been working as intended.

We have also been testing new releases of software on test-net and main-net before wider releases and providing feedback to members of core committee.

Last update we wrote that increased hosting costs (moving server) and price falling was creating problemss, and this has not become better. We still believe it is very important to fund grant pool and will continue at 70% efficiency as long as can. To reduce costs we removved one pledged "free" server to open node system, removed backup testnet node (possible because new update scheme of turning off node to update), and also started to use AWS suspend nodes for main net backupp. this have no cost when not in use (apart from elastic ip), and is turned on at intervals to sync database, updates and for test purposes.

Crypto Logic
dear community,

CryptoLogic is still operateing as infrastructure ANO with following servers:

2 Main-net servers for Authority set.

2 Main-net backup servers for Authority set (cloud hosting)

2 Test-net nodes (2 authority set)

1 Open Node server as part of grant

2 servers to provide hosting for monitoring equipment and support company operations

(7 servers total + cloud backups)

During covid time things have become more more complex on our day job and home front so less time available to participate in discussions but have tried to stay involved in governance and votes as required as ANO.

Last update we wrote about increasing hosting costs because moving other main net server also to Estonia, and this is still issue as of today. Problem has become even bigger because Norwegian currency drop 20% towards EUR earlier this year, so increase of hosting costs has pushed us to reduce efficiency to 50%.

We have contributed 70% of server income to grant pool since became ANO (most of anyone) and price since then has gone down 10x. We have operated at loss recently and as long as possible, but could not keep doing that, and at current price we believe infrastructure ANO appropriate efficiency is 50% and not higher.

We believe it is very important that Factom blockchain authority set has wide distribution of types of servers and locations, and because of this we are not going to change to cheaper, less reliable or similar hosting as most ANOs use (AWS etc).

Still grant pool is very important and we are trying to fund it as best as possible, and if situation change to the better efficiency will be raised again.

We also want to continue participate in testing of new releases of code, but there have not been any new code in long time....?
Current Update: Planned resignation as ANO

CryptoLogic

Crypto Logic
Factom community,

we are hereby announce that Cryptologic will retire as ANO by end of year due to the negative reactions and response we get when reducing efficiency from 70% to 50%.

We have tryed to operate as high efficiency infrastructure operator since onboarding and kept 70% efficiency as long as possible. Our average efficiency to this point inn time are still 67,52% which is much higher than anyone ANO, and this while operating expensive dedicated hardware and not shared hosting to provide better redundancy for protocol.

Price of FCT was when onboarded $10 and now is $1. We believe that adjusted and reduction in expected efficiency under this 10x reduction in price was to be understood, but seems like consencus is to still have very high efficiencies (60-70%) expected as infra operators of protocol. We are not able to operate under these condition and will regrettfully have to resign.

We plan to operate all ANO servers until end of december as hosting agreement for dedicated hardware will then expire. We hope for understanding in now reducing efficiency to 20% until of-boarding as we see 2020 will be hard year to balance financially as we have kept efficiency as high as possible for as long as possible and now paying price for not adjusting earlier.

We also plan to operate our Factom Open Nodes and support it for rest of year outside of the up coming grant round.

We wish rest of community best of luck with continue operating protocol and hope that 2021 will see more activity, development and usage.

Hello community,

For information CryptoLogic will be stepping down as ANO on November 30th. We have reached out to Factom Inc/Brian to coordinate removal of Authority identities. We will continue to support Open Node effort with two nodes for free until December 31.
